For those who work in Canary Wharf, which over 90,000 people do,
there are a number of elements which make this a very attractive area in
 which to work.
A major business district in London, Canary Wharf
is renowned for being the largest of any other region in the Capital.
Alongside the City of London area, it makes up one of the main financial
 centres.
Canary Wharf office space takes up 14,000,000 square
feet and is the headquarter base of major corporations such as Barclays,
Reuters and Citigroup. This is an important business area based in the
Isle of Dogs in East London. It has fantastic transport links around the
rest of the City, so it is a convenient location for workers to come
every day, and there are fantastic amenities in the area.
Canary
Wharf provides amenities such as office and retail space, restaurants
and bars, bringing a nice ambiance to the area, having a more relaxed
vibe in comparison to other areas in Central London. You can take time
to relax and enjoy food, music and comedy. Canary Wharf plays host to
over 200 cafes, restaurants and bars, as well as music and comedy. If
you're after something stylish, lively and fun go to the Rocket Bar and
Restaurant. If you fancy something rustic and Italian book a table at
Jamie's Italian. East Wintergarden is also home to some great
entertainment putting on concerts from British Sea Power and Penguin
Café. If you like having a laugh then visit the Canary Wharf Comedy Club
 to see some great acts.
For those who can afford to live there,
there are a number of serviced apartments to choose from. Working close
to home makes the most of your free time by avoiding the hassle of the
daily commute.
However for those who do commute from further
afield, there is a huge project ongoing which will make travel to the
area far easier. The Crossrail project began in 2009 and will be
completed in 2017. The design will link areas of London to Canary Wharf
via new tunnels, and will make the daily commute for Canary Wharf
workers a quick and convenient process.
As well as being a prestigious address to hold, Canary Wharf office space
is known as one of the safest areas of London. This is in part due to
the investment banks in the area which have numerous CCTV cameras. It is
also in a lower price rental bracket than areas such as Mayfair, where
office space can fetch up to twice the revenue.
As for areas on
the outskirts where employees may choose to take up residence;
Rotherhithe, Limehouse and the Bow Quarter development provide
reasonably priced homes. Most of them are loft style apartments and are a
stone's throw from Canary Wharf so you can have all of the convenience
without the price tag.
